The choir has 72 members who range in age from 30 to 80, and it performs at various events during the year including the opening of the main summer exhibition at the Turner Contemporary. Most of Barry’s working life was in finance so as well as singing, he assists the choir’s treasurer. But he began his working life in the Merchant Navy and may know a shanty or two.
