Becky trained as a teacher and was Director of Specialism for Sport, Health and Wellbeing at a large secondary school in Barnsley, Yorkshire. She moved to Ramsgate in 2010 and worked for Charlton Athletic Community Trust as the Senior Mentoring Officer for Thanet. She is very active in the local community as a town and district councillor. Environmental issues are very close to her heart.
